Whilst exterior wall cladding is fairly common on commercial structures, it is not often a feature one considers necessary for UK domestic buildings. There are however several instances where external wall cladding may prove to be very advantageous for private householders.
Firstly, wall cladding offers additional protection against the elements. For those householders worried about the impact on their brickwork of rain, moisture or temperature extremes, cladding offers an easy route to achieving peace of mind. Cladding need not necessarily be applied to the whole wall area, but simply added to those parts which the householder feels are particularly vulnerable.
Secondly, exterior cladding can help towards improving a property’s insulation. Stationary homes in mobile caravan parks, for example, can be poorly insulated, often due to many of them having been exempt from some building regulations. Most homes lend themselves perfectly to exterior wall cladding solutions which can compensate for poor insulation protection.
Thirdly, certain types of cladding such as plastic cladding reduce the need for external maintenance such as painting or sealing. Plastic wall cladding in particular requires only a very basic wipe down every now and again in order to keep its sheen.
It is also important to note that modern UPVC plastic cladding can be designed to look extremely attractive and to also fit in with the general style and appearance of a property. Plastic cladding panels are also relatively inexpensive whilst being extremely easy to fit together and mount.
At Bliby Plastics we can advise further on the benefits of plastic cladding and purchasing options. We also stock UPVC fascia boards for extra choice.
