Plastic building materials are invariably cost effective; they are light weight which means that they utilise simple fixing methods, they are generally easy to fit and they are both flexible and durable. Coupled with the fact that plastic is typically waterproof and UV resistant and it is very easy to understand why plastic is so widely used in building projects.
Plastics can also be coloured to suit or have varied finishes applied to them. These are not bespoke services unless you are buying on a scale that would facilitate such a customization but it does mean there are different finishes and colours available to suit some variations of common customer needs. Plastic cladding is a perfect example of where the design capabilities of plastic excel. Wall cladding is a very cost effective alternative to ceramic tiling. Plastic cladding offers many of the already listed practical benefits over tiling in terms of cost and ease of fitting but it also offers almost limitless capacity for designs to be applied. In real terms, the actual limitation on designs widely available is one of taste rather than practical considerations. Clearly this could all change should we see a return to the more vibrant styling of the 60’s and 70’s.
