Whether you are planning a major refit of plastic fascias, soffit and bargeboard or guttering, or just a minor replacement of a length of plastic guttering, you will usually need the correct type of sealant to make sure you do a good job.
For any work on the exterior of your home or garden shed or workshop, it is best to buy a good quality sealant that is specially formulated to withstand the rigours of any kind of weather. As well as plastic wall cladding, a sealant for all weathers will give a strong adhesion to materials such as glass, metals such as lead, aluminium and zinc.
This kind of sealant is also perfect when an emergency repair needs to be carried out during wet weather. If a plastic guttering starts to leak, for example, all weather sealant will provide a secure but temporary closure. Do not decide to just leave the guttering in place as long as it does not leak. Make sure you replace it as soon as possible. Here at Bliby Plastics we can help you with this and make sure that you are buying a section of guttering that matches your existing gutters. It may also be an idea to look at our drainage pipes.
For rough or smooth surfaces, try using glue screws. They are put to best use when fixing skirting boards, wall cladding, panels and door surrounds. A strong polymer is best used with non-porous frontages. It will bond to damp surfaces and provides excellent weatherproofing around windows and doors. It is also suitable for sealing joints around sanitary fixtures.
