There are several different types of guttering available on the market. When it comes to the type of material used for guttering, some commentators commend cast iron as the only reliable alternative. There are however many more who now wholeheartedly praise the merits of UPVC plastic guttering. Given that UPVC plastic guttering is much cheaper than cast iron guttering it is well worth considering the advantages of using UPVC.
First and foremost, UPVC guttering is extremely amenable to matching up to even the most awkward of roofing layouts. Not only do manufacturers produce a variety of ready-made UPVC plastic guttering shapes and sizes, it is also extremely straightforward for a reasonably competent installer to cut UPVC guttering to the required lengths. Furthermore, being relatively lightweight, UPVC guttering is also far easier to secure than traditional cast iron guttering.
Secondly, UPVC guttering is extremely durable and resilient. Whilst some very cheap plastics might be susceptible to cracking, UPVC is highly resistant to UV rays, heat, water and mould. It is fair to say that it is these qualities in UPVC that also render it the preferred choice of the professional for other types of weather-exposed installation such as window frames and fascias.
Finally, even the argument that cast iron guttering is more pleasing to the eye can be countered by the fact that UPVC can be made to simulate the look of a variety of other materials, including cast iron.
At Bliby Plastics we can provide a wide range of cheap yet highly effective UPVC guttering solutions and UPVC fascia boards for your needs.
